On March 17, 2020, giant panda Ping Ping (平平) — later nicknamed Re Gan Mian (热干面) — was born at the Sunlight Nursery (太阳产房) of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, weighing 159.8 grams. His twin brother weighed 119.5 grams.
The pair were the first captive-born giant panda twins of 2020 at the base, and their births set the earliest delivery time in the base's recorded history. Their mother is Mao Mao (毛毛). The younger twin was later named Dan Hong Gao (蛋烘糕).
