Birth of Yuan Meng

Yuan Meng was born at Beauval Zoo at 22:18 on 4 August 2017, the first giant panda ever born in France; his twin died shortly after birth.

Location: ZooParc de Beauval

At 22:18 on August 4, 2017, Huan Huan (欢欢) gave birth to twin cubs at ZooParc de Beauval in France. One cub died shortly after birth; the survivor, a male weighing 142 grams, became the first giant panda ever born in France.

Because his father is Yuan Zi (园子, also known as 圆仔), keepers nicknamed the cub "Mini Yuan Zai" (迷你圆仔), or 卷卷. He was formally named Yuan Meng (圆梦) in December 2017.
