CCRCGP's First Twin Panda Cubs of 2026 Born at Ya'an Base

On the morning of June 10, 2026, giant panda Qian Qian (芊芊) gave birth to twin male cubs at the CCRCGP Ya'an Base — the first twin birth among the center's captive panda population in 2026. Both cubs are developing well, with black pigmentation spreading on their eyes, ears, limbs, and shoulder bands, and strong vocalizations. One cub is nursed by the mother while the other is cared for by the hand-rearing team, with the two cubs rotated to their mother in turn. Qian Qian, born September 11, 2006, naturally mated at the Wolong Shenshuping Base in early February and was transferred to Ya'an Base at the end of that month.
