On October 9, 2026, ZooParc de Beauval announced on its official social media that the five-year-old twin sisters Huan Lili (欢黎黎) and Yuan Dudu (圆嘟嘟) will return to China in December 2026, with the departure scheduled for December 17, 2026.
Keepers have begun entry-and-exit crate training so that both pandas grow used to the transport crates before the long journey, and the zoo reports that the twins are adapting well.
The sisters were born at Beauval on August 2, 2021 — France's second panda birth, after their brother Yuan Meng in 2017. Their parents, Yuan Zi and Huan Huan, returned to China in November 2025. The twins' stay had been extended to the end of the January 2027 cooperation programme; they leave ahead of that date.
A new pair of giant pandas is planned to arrive at Beauval in 2027 under a further ten-year cooperation agreement.
