On October 6, 2026, Zoo Atlanta announced that giant pandas Ping Ping (平平, studbook 1230) and Fu Shuang (福双, studbook 1250) will make their public debut on Friday, November 6, 2026, in the zoo's new Arthur M. Blank Panda Grove.
The habitat opens to visitors on the same day. It is named for Arthur M. Blank, whose support of Zoo Atlanta's giant panda program dates to 1999, when the zoo's first pair, Lun Lun and Yang Yang, arrived. The $6 million renovation was funded by a grant from the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation.
"We are overjoyed to introduce Ping Ping and Fu Shuang and the all-new Arthur M. Blank Panda Grove to our community, City of Atlanta, State of Georgia, and beyond on November 6," the zoo said, also inviting supporters to contribute through its Animal Wish List.
Ping Ping and Fu Shuang remain in their quarantine and acclimatisation period until the debut. In the zoo's first update after their arrival, keepers reported that both pandas were eating well and adjusting more each day, exceeding the animal care team's expectations.
