Short version
Ai Lun (艾伦), studbook #1127, is a male giant panda born June 15, 2018 at Chengdu Research Base — the younger half of the world's first male panda twin pair of 2018 with his brother Ai Mi. Known for his round face and short nose, fans nicknamed him "Ai Fugui'er" (艾富贵儿). In 2022, Sichuan Province appointed him as the official provincial tourism mascot "An Yi" (安逸). A water-loving panda with a hearty appetite, he moved to Fuzhou Panda World in December 2025 for a five-year exchange.
Ai Lun (Chinese: 艾伦, studbook number 1127) is a male giant panda born on June 15, 2018 at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. He was the younger half of the world’s first male panda twin pair of 2018, born alongside his older brother Ai Mi (艾米).
His mother is Ai Li (艾莉, studbook 1148), making Ai Lun part of the “Ai family” line at Chengdu Base.
On the morning of June 15, 2018, the Chengdu Base welcomed twin male cubs from mother Ai Li. The elder twin, Ai Mi, weighed 163.8 grams, while the younger — Ai Lun — weighed 136.5 grams. They were the third pair of cubs born at the base that year, and the first all-male panda twins globally in 2018.
Ai Lun’s round face and short nose quickly became his signature look, earning him the affectionate nickname “Ai Fugui’er” (艾富贵儿 — “Ai the Wealthy”) from fans.
On January 26, 2022, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism held a naming ceremony at the Chengdu Base. In a formal ceremony, the department director personally affixed a name badge to Ai Lun, officially appointing him as “An Yi” (安逸 — “Leisurely/Cozy”) — the Sichuan Cultural Tourism Mascot.
The name “安逸” (ān yì) is a classic Sichuan dialect expression that captures the province’s laid-back, comfortable lifestyle — a perfect fit for a laid-back panda. Following his appointment, Ai Lun’s “An Yi Panda” IP image appeared at major transportation hubs across the province, including Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Chengdu East Railway Station, as well as cultural tourism districts like Kuanzhai Alley and Eastern Suburb Memory.
Ai Lun is a true foodie among pandas. His favorite food is bamboo leaves, and he consumes approximately 80 jin (40 kg) of bamboo daily — a seriously impressive appetite. His daily routine involves about 10 hours of sleep and produces around 30 kg of feces per day.
His most distinctive habit is his love of water. Ai Lun is a panda who lives for bath time — on hot summer days, he can often be found lounging in his pool, splashing and soaking in the cool water with evident delight. Keepers describe him as a gentle soul with a handsome, boyish face.
In December 2025, the Chengdu Base announced that Ai Lun would be transferred to Fuzhou Panda World for a five-year science exchange program. On December 25–26, 2025, he made the journey safely and entered a period of acclimation.
On January 17, 2026, the newly renovated Fuzhou Panda World held its grand reopening. Ai Lun debuted as one of the facility’s “Panda Dream Team” of five pandas, taking up residence in Hall 1 alongside another male panda, Rong Yao (荣耀). The upgraded facility provided him with modern, enriched habitats for his five-year stay in Fuzhou.
