Xiang Bing (Chinese: 香冰), studbook number 665, is a female giant panda born on June 30, 2007 at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. She weighed 125.5 grams at birth, with a head length of 3 cm and body length of 11 cm. She was the first giant panda born at the Chengdu Base in 2007.

Her mother is Bing Bing (冰冰, studbook 465) and her father is Lin Lin (琳琳, studbook 597).

Early Years (2007-2015)

On October 31, 2007, Xiang Bing was adopted by Microsoft Corporation, who named her “Unlimited Potential” with the Chinese name “Qian Qian” (潜潜). The adoption symbolized the potential of technology to create opportunities.

Xiang Bing is known for her lively and energetic personality and her exceptional climbing and dismantling skills. She earned the nickname “Demolition Office Director” for her habit of pulling apart wooden enrichment structures.

In 2015, Xiang Bing lived at the Dujiangyan Panda Valley (熊猫谷).

Motherhood

On July 6, 2020, Xiang Bing gave birth to her first daughter:
