Its collection includes *Ailuropoda melanoleuca* (giant panda), *Rhinopithecus roxellana* (golden snub-nosed monkey), *Acipenser sinensis* (Chinese sturgeon), *Panthera pardus japonensis* (North China leopard), and *Elaphurus davidianus* (Père David's deer), many of which are listed in Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna
