The park's ex-situ conservation collection includes over 200 rare animal species, such as the *Nomascus hainanus* (Hainan gibbon, IUCN Critically Endangered, CITES Appendix I), *Cervus eldii hainanus* (Hainan Eld's deer, IUCN Endangered), *Pavo muticus* (Green peafowl, IUCN Endangered), and the iconic giant pandas *Ailuropoda melanoleuca* Gonggong and Shunshun, which were transferred from the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in 2018.
