On September 29, 2025, female giant panda Ping Ping (平平, studbook #704) moved into the newly built China Panda Garden at Shunan Bamboo Sea (蜀南竹海中华大熊猫苑) in Yibin, Sichuan.
The move ended years of transfers that had taken her from her birthplace at Ya'an Bifengxia Base to Shanghai Zoo (2010), back to Bifengxia (2011), to Emei Xianzhijian Ecological Park (2012), and home to Bifengxia again (2017). Shunan Bamboo Sea is her current residence.
Note: this is Ping Ping #704, the 2008-born post-earthquake twin — not Ping Ping #1230, the same-named male who was selected for Zoo Atlanta in 2026.
