Qin Hua

Basic Profile

Qin Hua (秦华), whose nicknames include "Xiao Kou Zhao" (小口罩, "Little Mask") and "Zhu Ma Hu" (珠麻糊), is a male giant panda born on October 11, 2020, at the Qinling Giant Panda Research Center in Shaanxi Province. He is the first offspring of the world's only captive brown-and-white giant panda, Qi Zai (七仔, #802).

• Mother: Zhu Zhu (珠珠) — A female giant panda, member of the "Bai Xue Family" (白雪家族) at Qinling

Qin Hua shares the same father, Qi Zai, with:

• Ba Zai (八仔, #1260) — Born July 16, 2021, mother: Zheng Zheng
• Rong Rong (荣荣) — Born July 27, 2022, mother: Jin Xin

Qi Zai has exactly three offspring, all male. The mothers Zhu Zhu, Zheng Zheng, and Jin Xin each have other offspring with different fathers, but these are not Qi Zai's children.

Notable Physical Feature

Qin Hua's most distinctive physical characteristic is his prominent black marking around the mouth area, which resembles a mask. This unique feature is the origin of his nickname "Little Mask" (小口罩) among panda enthusiasts.

In May 2021, Panpan Food Group (盼盼食品集团) announced lifetime adoption of Qin Hua. While his official adoption name is "Pan Pan" (盼盼), he is still referred to as "Qin Hua" by the conservation team and fans.

Despite his active personality, Qin Hua is sometimes playfully called "Battle Five Trash" (战五渣), a humorous reference suggesting he often ends up in lower positions during panda social interactions.

Display Life

Current Location

Since 2023, Qin Hua has been on display at the Qinling Sibao Park (秦岭四宝园) located in the Changqing Huayang Scenic Area (长青华阳景区) in Yangxian County, Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province.

Daily Life

At the Huayang base, Qin Hua enjoys:

• Carrots
• Special panda milk formula (盆盆奶)

His playful nature often leads him to interact enthusiastically with enrichment items, sometimes to their detriment.

Fourth Birthday Celebration

Qin Hua celebrated his 4th birthday at the Changqing Huayang Scenic Area. The celebration included:

• Monthly roses
• Red maple leaves
• Apples and carrots as decorations

• Released orange fresh coconut juice as a special gift
• Hosted a photography exhibition at the 5G Science Museum
