Short version

Jin Ke (津柯, studbook #743), nicknamed "Cool Boy," is a male giant panda born July 15, 2009 at CCRCGP. Son of Bai Xue and Ping Ping, he was an Asian Games Panda in 2010. Nicknamed the "Center's Last Natural Mating Defense" (中心本交最后防线), he is one of the most prolific sires with over 30 offspring. Basic Profile

Jin Ke (Chinese: 津柯, nicknamed Cool Boy/酷小子), studbook number 743, is a male giant panda born on July 15, 2009 at the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas (CCRCGP) Ya’an Base. His father is Ping Ping (屏屏) and his mother is Bai Xue (白雪) — the legendary escape artist and founder of the Bai Xue family lineage.

Life Journey

Asian Games Panda (2010)

On October 27, 2010, Jin Ke was one of six pandas flown to Guangzhou aboard a China Southern “Asian Games” charter flight as part of the 12-panda Asian Games Panda Group. He traveled alongside Bo Si, Yun Yun, Yin Ke, Hao Hao, and Shen Wei.

Later Years

On November 27, 2013, Jin Ke was sent to Langzhong Panda Paradise for exhibition. He returned to the Dujiangyan Base on January 13, 2015. In 2015, he began successfully breeding through natural mating.

Shunan Bamboo Sea (2025–present)

On September 29, 2025, Jin Ke was one of four pandas — alongside Qi Lin (麒麟), Ping Ping (平平), and Fan Xing (梵星) — to move into the newly opened Shunan Bamboo Sea China Panda Garden in Yibin, Sichuan. The facility features two pavilions themed around the four seasons, set within the 120-square-kilometer bamboo forest that gives the region its name.

Breeding

Jin Ke has successfully mated with multiple females:

  • With Mang Zai (莽仔): father of Xing Xing (星星) and Chen Chen (辰辰)
  • With Xin Ni’er (新妮儿): father of a cub
  • With Han Yuan (汉媛): father of Ke Ke (可可, Hong Kong)

He is described as having calm temperament and exceptional eyesight — unusual traits that make him a reliable natural breeder.
