Short version

Mei Qing (梅清, #547), "Mei Gui Fei" of Chimelong, was born 2002-07-12 at Wolong Hetaoping. Daughter of Ying Ying (#382) and Da Di (#394), twin of Lan Xiang (#548), mother of five (Qing Shan #786, Long Long #878, Qin Qin #1054, Ai Ai #1055, Guo Qing #1221). Returned to CCRCGP on 2026-07-13 to retire.

Basic Profile

Mei Qing (Chinese: 梅清), studbook number 547, is a female giant panda born on July 12, 2002 at the Wolong Hetaoping Base (核桃坪野化培训基地) of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda. Her mother is Ying Ying (英英, studbook 382) and her father is Da Di (大地, studbook 394). Her identical-day twin sister is Lan Xiang (兰香, studbook 548).

Because she came of age in the same generation as the “Plum–Orchid–Bamboo–Chrysanthemum” beauties and was noted for her looks, she is celebrated as one of the “Four Beauties of the Plum-Orchid-Bamboo-Chrysanthemum cohort”. Chimelong fans nicknamed her “Mei Gui Fei (梅贵妃, Imperial Consort Mei)” and “Diao Fei (刁刁/刁妃)”.

⚠️ Number correction (2026-09): Earlier site versions filed Mei Qing under #725 with a template-wrong birth record (2007-07-27, Chengdu) and a 2008 Chimelong move. All three values were incorrect. Per Baidu Baike’s dedicated Mei Qing entry (corroborated by the Ying Ying entry and Zhihu/Douyin archives), Mei Qing is #547, born 2002-07-12 at Hetaoping; #725 belongs to Ni Ni (妮妮, born 2008-08-23). The double-occupation is resolved.

📝 Current location: Returned to China on 2026-07-13 for retirement at the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda — specific base pending official announcement (the Dujiangyan base has been closed for renovation since 2026-04-23). This site therefore asserts no currentLocation.

Through her mother Ying Ying (#382), Mei Qing belongs to the same maternal line as Ying Hua (瑛华, #566) and Shu Qin (淑琴, #756) — sisters of Ying Ying from the old “9 litters, 14 cubs” breeding era — stitching this branch of the Ying Ying family into the site’s graph. Her father Da Di (#394) is the same panda recorded as the sire of Da Bai Tu (大白兔), giving a cross-verifiable parentage check.

📝 Registry note: #878 is already filed on this site as Long Long (隆隆) with identical parentage (Mei Qing × Lin Lin) — consistent. #1054’s template-era squatter page (ke-jiu-1054) was deleted in 2026-09 — per authoritative records 1054 = Qin Qin (亲亲, Mei Qing × Shen Wei, 2016-10-09), whose own page is pending.
