Narrative

Short version
Qing Shan (青山, #786), also known as Hao Hao (浩浩/皓皓), was the firstborn son of Mei Qing (#547) and Yuan Yuan (#488), born 2010-08-14 at Ya'an Bifengxia. He died of intestinal torsion in 2021 (some fan records say 2020).
Qing Shan (Chinese: 青山, “Green Hill”), studbook number 786, was a male giant panda born on August 14, 2010 at the Ya’an Bifengxia Base — the firstborn child of Mei Qing (梅清, #547), who was living at Bifengxia between her 2004 transfer and her 2012 move to Chimelong. His sire is Yuan Yuan (园园, studbook 488) — a correction issued in 2026-09. Earlier versions of this page credited Lin Lin (琳琳), but three independent sources settle the matter: (1) Baidu Baike’s Lin Lin entry (very high credibility) lists Long Long (#878) among his offspring but not Qing Shan; (2) a Baijiahao “meritorious sires” retrospective places Qing Shan in the Liang Liang → Yuan Yuan → Qing Shan line; (3) multiple fan-archived accounts record that Mei Qing rejected the hot-tempered Lin Lin and only mated after keepers paired her with the gentle Yuan Yuan, giving birth to Qing Shan — while her second pairing with Lin Lin produced Long Long (#878). Yuan Yuan (#488) is the panda widely known as Fu Bao’s grandfather (born 1999-08-23 at Beijing Zoo, son of Liang Liang and Yong Yong).
He is also recorded under the aliases Hao Hao (浩浩 / 皓皓) — the Baike line “in 2010, gave birth to a son Hao Hao in Sichuan” refers to this same bear, not a separate individual, and no second “Hao Hao” page exists or should be created.
📝 Death year: Baidu Baike’s Mei Qing entry (very high credibility) records Qing Shan dying of intestinal torsion in 2021; several fan accounts on Douyin record 2020. This page records 2021 with the 2020 dissent noted.
