Kou Hin (Chinese: 幸浜), studbook number 614, is a male giant panda born on August 23, 2005 at Adventure World in Shirahama, Wakayama, Japan. His parents are Eimei (永明) and Mei Mei (梅梅).
Kou Hin was one of twins. His sibling died 40 hours after birth from congenital heart defect, making Kou Hin the first surviving giant panda twin born in Japan. He was raised by his mother Mei Mei.
On March 16, 2010, at 4.5 years old, Kou Hin returned to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding as part of the Sino-Japan cooperation agreement.
He is described as having a long, slender snout and a leaner build than most pandas, with long limbs. He is active and loves climbing. Before his return to China in 2009, he weighed 107 kg and was healthy enough to undergo blood draws without anesthesia.
