Short version
Kai Hin (海浜, studbook #782) is a male giant panda born August 11, 2010 at Adventure World, Japan. Twin of You Hin, he and his sister made history as the first twin cubs in the Japan program raised entirely by their mother. Kai Hin (Chinese: 海浜), studbook number 782, is a male giant panda born on August 11, 2010 at Adventure World in Shirahama, Wakayama, Japan. He is the twin brother of You Hin (阳浜, studbook 783) , and their parents are Eimei (永明) and Rau Hin (良浜) .
Kai Hin and his twin sister were the first twin cubs in the Sino-Japan cooperative program to be raised entirely by their mother without human intervention.
Kai Hin returned to China on June 5, 2017 alongside his sisters You Hin and Yu Hin, after a farewell ceremony attended by over 1,200 Japanese well-wishers. The three pandas flew on a special NH947 charter flight to Chengdu.
On April 13, 2018, Kai Hin was transferred to Guiyang Qianling Park in Guizhou Province, where he lives with another male panda, Xing Bao (星宝). The park’s panda pavilion is notable for being free to the public — visitors only pay the standard park entrance fee of 5 yuan.
Kai Hin is known for his active personality — he does backflips, hangs from bars, and consumes approximately 150 kg of bamboo daily.
